Nestled in the western ridges of Oyo State, Ado-Awaye is globally renowned for Iyake Lake — a breathtaking body of water resting at the summit of Oke Ado mountain. It is one of only two natural suspended mountain lakes on the entire planet (the other being Hanging Lake in Colorado, USA).
Beyond the main lake, the mountain is rich in Yoruba history, spiritual heritage, and geological marvels. Climbing Oke Ado takes travellers past ancient settlement remains, historical landmarks, and panoramic views stretching across the Oyo countryside.

A natural tree root formation that vividly resembles the body and trunk of an elephant.
Ese kan Iku (Footprint of Death)
A mysterious, steep ridge near the trail where visitors must exercise caution while taking in unmatched views of the plains below.
Ishage Rock
A large boulder standing vertically on a narrow base without falling, deeply respected in local folklore.
Ese kan Ogbani
Distinct foot-shaped impressions carved directly into the rock face, left by ancient mountain inhabitants.
