Beyond the Brown Roofs — Part 2: The Fix
In Part 1, we looked at how a single visit to a hotel in Bodija changed my perception of Oyo State's hospitality scene — and how a lack of online visibility, not a lack of quality, is quietly costing local businesses across the state real revenue.
Bridging the Gap: How ajani.ai Is Approaching the Problem
This digital disconnect is precisely where ajani.ai has stepped in. Working directly with business owners on the ground, the platform is helping hospitality businesses across Oyo State connect with prospective guests in ways many hadn't been able to before.
That work has taken a few concrete forms:
• Enhancing digital visibility: building verified, accurate online listings so travelers searching for accommodation can actually find these properties.
• Professional photography: replacing grainy or outdated images with photography that reflects the true atmosphere of each property.

• Streamlined discovery: making it easier for both locals and visiting travelers to find quality stays and event spaces across Ibadan, Ogbomosho, Iseyin, and beyond.
As Ladele Ajao, the platform's founder, put it when ajani.ai launched (Tribune Online): Oyo State has rich culture, hospitality, and tourism potential, but much of it remains invisible online. Having now visited a fair number of these properties firsthand, I'd call that an understatement rather than a marketing line.
A New Chapter for Oyo State Hospitality
Oyo State has more to offer than it's traditional stereotypes suggest. Behind unmarked gates and quiet streets lie hospitality experiences that would hold their own anywhere in Lagos or Abuja, waiting, in many cases, simply to be found.
The task ahead isn't to convince anyone that Oyo State's hospitality sector is capable. It already is. The task is making sure that capability is visible to the people looking for it , one accurate listing, one honest photograph, at a time.
